Over the years Milestone have proven their worth as the motorcycle racing experts. Games like the RIDE series and the MotoGP offerings have provided gamers with a host of two-wheeled action. But they’ve also got fingers in the MXGP pie and today that is where the focus is – with the announcement, first details and full release date of MXGP 2020 for Xbox One, PC, PS4 and PS5. And yep, it does seem like an Xbox Series X option is missing.
MXGP 2020 will arrive on Xbox One, PC, PS4 and PS5 come December 10th 2020, as Milestone bring together the richest of history to provide gamers with another stunning MXGP option.
Following on from the likes of MXGP Pro and MXGP 2019, MXGP 2020 will cover the official FIM Motocross World Championship, all whilst providing gamers with a host of new features and modes.
That will start with the chance to experience the excitement of the current MXGP season, getting involved and competing with 68 riders from across the MXGP and MX2 categories. With the inclusion of 19 circuits of the 2020 season in place, you’ll be able to start things off as a rookie before heading away onto a path of glory, either joining in with an official team, or creating your own in the process.
Further to that though and MXGP 2020 will let you create your own tracks, this time with some great new features baked straight in. You’ll have the chance to utilise Heightmaps which will let you replicate the real MX tracks configurations, often built on hills and mountains, adding in that all-important realism and all the challenges that real riders face during races. With np less than 4 different terrain types in place – Plain, Quarry, Vineyard and Forest – it’ll be a cinch to create the track of your dreams, before sharing it online with your friends.
And playing MXGP 2020 with friends looks to be a huge focus this time around. From free-roam riding, alone or with others – at least once the feature is switched on after launch – you’ll also have access to the Playground. It is here where you’ll be able to showcase your riding skills in an all-new Norwegian fjords inspired setting, riding together with up to 3 friends. And to create more fun in the Playground, the beloved Waypoint mode returns, now allowing races up to 4 players.
MXGP 2020 will also come with a full Multiplayer Mode with Dedicated Servers for a lag-free gameplay experience, a Race Director Mode that should allow the chance to enjoy Online tournaments, and tons of customisation. In fact, Milestone are promising more than 10000 items, all officially licensed from more than 110 brands of the Motocross world. These won’t just be cosmetic additions either – bike performances can be also improved with real life replica of different bike parts.
MXGP 2020 will hit Xbox One, PS4, PS5 and PC come December 10th 2020. Hit up the later trailer for even more info.
