Looking to keep busy this long weekend? Warframe has got you sorted with the arrival of Operation Scarlet Spear on Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
Digital Extremes have today confirmed that they are planning on bringing a whole new meaning to the word ‘war’, as Warframe Operation Scarlet Spear goes live on Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
Giving you the chance to strategize in the new Operation Room before going about hitting back against sentient forces, Operation Scarlet Spear tells of the scramble to counter the Sentients’ first offensive wave of the New War. This will mean players can now form plans together in the new Operation Room before launching expanded cooperative land and space battles. The thing is, it will only be with the newly implemented Operation Link (formerly that of ‘Squad Link’), in which Tenno will have a fighting chance to stave off Sentient incursions.
Starting today and running through to May 14th 2020, this five-week event will play out on Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch, with numerous improvements to the PC build fully implemented to consoles.
These changes include:
- An all-new five-week Operation (timed event) specific to console players starts today
- Ground Assault and Murex Raid scoring changes (increases over original scoring) will go live at launch today
- Rare and Legendary Arcanes will be available in Little Duck’s store in the Flotillas on launch
- Fixes and improvements galore!
But that’s not all and this update also brings a slew of exciting items and upgrades to please avid Warframe players, with these coming in the form of Nova’s second Deluxe Collection and a powerful new weapon class to earn are among a number of additions. Players will now be able to discover the origins of the anti matter-wielding Nova in a new Leverian exhibit and obtain her second Deluxe Collection, including variants of her Armor, Syandana and skins of signature weapons.
Operation Scarlet Spear’s new cinematic promises to delve into uncharted narrative territory with the Sentient threat deploying forces across the Origin System. Following the cinematic cliff-hangar that was found in 2019’s Empyrean, the first wave of Sentient scouts have breached the Veil Proxima using Ramsled ships to disrupt Tenno momentum. With them honing in on Railjack ships, the invaders send forth boarding parties, including Anu Mantalysts and Anu Interference Drones, to disrupt and disable systems, from Side Turrets to Battle Avionics to Speed Boosting, testing Tenno resilience.
It’s therefore up to the Tenno to rally together and repel these early attacks. This will see players able to formulate plans in a new 50-person Relay (the new Operation Room) and then embark on four-player missions (“Operations”) utilizing cooperative ground and Railjack attacks (the new Operation Link feature) to achieve combined community goals. Each and every successful Operation will then builds progress that adds to the overall community goal, driving back enemy forces before the invasion engulfs the entire Origin System.
