Kotaku is reporting that US retail chain GameStop is cancelling the midnight release of Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Doom Eternal. Both games are due to be released on Friday. The company shared the news via an internal memo to employees which has been published online by Kotaku.
“Until further notice, late night launch events are suspended. To maintain the health and safety of our guests and associates, it is best that we avoid situations where large numbers of guests are gathered indoors or standing in line.”
