Genshin Impact has taken the world by storm, and now fans are already eagerly awaiting the next upcoming update. MiHoYo is getting ready to keep the content flowing and the hype increasing.
We’ve compiled all of the known and leaked information from a variety of sources. Right now, we’re pretty confident that the majority of this is right, but some things may change by the time the update is released. But as always, take everything with a pinch of salt.
A big thank you to Zeniet, AE Entropy, Project Celestia, Honey Impact, Lumie, Genshin Intel, and Arkywzx.
Genshin Impact 1.6 Release Date
Genshin Impact version 1.6 update is scheduled for June 9, 2021. This is subject to change, but from miHoYo’s own official post from the production team, they are trying to organize a consistent update schedule every six weeks.
This is our road map of when the updates should be released. However, anything after 1.3 is purely guesswork based on the six week update period.
- Version Update 1.6—Scheduled for June 9, 2021.
- Version Update 1.7—Scheduled for July 21, 2021
- Version Update 1.8—Scheduled for Aug. 2, 2021
Leaks
Remember to take everything with a pinch of salt, all information is from the beta, rumored, or mere speculation.
New Characters in Genshin Impact Update 1.16
A few new characters have been leaked but not confirmed. According to leaker Arkywzx, two new characters are coming with Genshin Impact 1.6. These are Yoimiya and Kazuha.
Here’s everything we know but all information is subject to change.
Yoimiya
Yoimiya has been datamined to be a Five-Star Pyro Bow user, but her character model has not been found yet. We do know she is 100 percent a playable character by Ayaka having a voice line about her. Thanks to Genshin Honey.
Organizing festivals and ceremonies is the responsibility of the Shabugyo and the shrine maidens, and our handler of fireworks really knows how to build an exhilarating atmosphere. Although this summer, I’ve decided not to ask her to oversee the fireworks because… I don’t want Tohma to apologize to the firefighting teams again.
Ayaka
Kazuha
Kazuha has been datamined to be a Five-Star Anemo Sword user, a character model has been found, unlike Yoimiya. We do have Kazuha’s Skills, Constellations, and Ascension!

New Regions in Genshin Impact 1.6
Regions are what many players are waiting for in Genshin Impact. These add whole new areas for people to explore, for new materials, secrets, plus more. A few regions have been leaked, but they have not come to fruition yet.
Inazuma
Inazuma has been leaked since before the first major update, 1.1, which makes it the most anticipated region to come. If rumors are to be believed, some part of Inazuma is coming to 1.6.
Inazuma is split into three areas, two islands, and the main city of Inazuma, which will rival Mondstadt and Liyue. Inazuma City won’t be coming until potentially 1.7/1.8.
The two islands, along with smaller islands are speculated to be coming in 1.6, so this will give you extra areas to explore. We do not know how big these will be.
According to Genshin Intel, the picture below are these islands. And boats are going to be the next biggest mechanic coming to Genshin Impact. Whether these a pilotable, or it’s a sort of fast travel mechanic between the island is still unknown. It’ll no doubt the latter, like the boat that takes you to the Pearl Galley.
A big part of the story of Inazuma is going to revolve around Beidou and her crew.

Events
Ludi Harpastum
Ludi Harpastum was established in commemoration of how Barbatos, the Anemo Archon, taught his people to brew wine and live freely. It was a festival meant for all people to enjoy.
Genshin Impact Wiki
The Ludi Harpastum is an annual festival that will take place in Mondstadt. The event in question is known for lasting 15 days of games, laughter, and joy.
The champion of the games will get to choose a maiden, who will then throw the Harpastum—a round ball of red cloth—into the crowd. Whoever catches or picks it up first will be blessed with fortune and happiness all year round.
Leakers are unsure whether this event or Inazuma will appear first, as miHoYo has not yet decided. Klee is meant to be having a Banner Rerun.
Due to recent datamining findings, a new type of Event Currency has been discovered called Mini Harpastums. It’s looking more likely, that Ludi Harpastum will appear before Inazuma.
Dendro
Dendro is the last elemental of Genshin Impact. No characters can utilize this nature-based power. Only a few enemies in the game can wield it, and they are few and far between.
If speculation is correct, Dendro will not appear until 1.9 at the earliest. Dendro is linked to the rumored area, the Chasm, and that won’t be coming until Inazuma is fully released and then some.
This is all the information about 1.6 so far, but the update is still a ways away. We’ll update this article if anything more comes available.
New Boss
A new boss is coming with a new Elemental Stone material drop. This material is unnamed at this time but the stone in question is for Kazuha. We are not sure if Yoimaya will use the same stone.
The new enemy’s name is called Maguu Kenki, and thanks to Lumie and Unari, we can see a render below.
