HammerFall: Dominion Cover Art by Samwise DidierMetal music and World of Warcraft have a long history. From the in and out of game band, Elite Tauren Chieftains, to references and nods throughout the game, it is very apparent that many at Blizzard are fans. Senior Art Director, Samwise Didier, has even created album covers for Swedish heavy metal band HammerFall. Heavy Metal icons, Ozzy Osbourne and Metallica have performed at BlizzCon, Metallica even making an appearance this year at BlizzConline.
Shadowlands has more Metal references than ever, especially in Maldraxxas, and in the final fight in Castle Nathria, Sire Denathrias yells “Scream for me!” which is the catch phrase of Iron Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson.
